Load balancers evenly spread the load on your network over the connected servers. This way, they guarantee the best performance at any time and prevent servers from being overloaded and going offline.
Load balancers are therefore the basis for a reliable network. Moreover, Combell allows you to add them to OpenStack for free.
Based on monitoring
In order for a load balancer to work properly, it must know exactly what is happening with the connected servers. Each load balancer therefore offers you the opportunity to configure monitoring.
If the monitoring indicates that something is going wrong, it will trigger an alarm, which will inform the load balancer that a server is overloaded and transfer the load to another connected server.
