October 30th is the “Day of the Web shop”

For the third year in a row, October 30th will be the Day of the Web shop. It will be an opportunity to discover large and small web stores and customers will benefit from special offers. What about you?

There are three reasons behind this initiative: partners and sponsors of the event could introduce their products and services to the web store operators. In turn, the latter could introduce their web store to the visitors through the central website. And finally, consumers could benefit from special discounts and promotions that the web stores would offer for the occasion.

The first edition was an instant hit: in 2011, 16,500 unique visitors accessed the central site. 93 web shops participated in the event, and 4,300 online shoppers created an account. The success continued with the second edition, on October 30th 2012, when 49,000 online shoppers visited the 140 participating web shops.

Obviously, this huge traffic increase requires a strong partner capable of handling the traffic on the central site. That is why, for the 2013 edition, the organisers decided to involve the Internet company Combell, which will handle hosting duties for both Dag van de Webshop and its French-speaking equivalent Journée du Webshop.

Other sponsors and partners of the 2013 edition are: BPost, the logistics company that handles the shipping of your products; Conversics, the online marketing agency that develops marketing strategies based on studies; Bloovi, the online news service that brings the many players in the digital sector together; Safeshops, the quality label that guarantees that a web store meets the legal and deontological requirements through annual certification audits; Comeos, the organisation that represents Belgian commerce and services; and Ogone, the largest Payment Service Provider that handles and secures online and mobile payments.

As a sponsor of this event, Combell offers the many web stores who entrusted Combell with their hosting duties the possibility (until 23 September 2013) to benefit from an early bird rate: web shops that want to participate in this event can enter the promotional code COMBELL when registering and pay only €200 (excl. VAT) per participating web store.

The Day of the Webshop is a great opportunity to introduce your web store to the public, but also to sell more. A few days earlier, registered users are notified via e-mail about special offers. The fact that discounts and special offers are only valid for one day (October 30th) will most probably push them to make a quick purchase.

All web shops that deliver their products in Belgium, have a .be or .com domain name and are established in Belgium can participate in this event. What about you? Will you join us? All you have to do is come up with a special offer and sign up your web store on the Day of the Webshop website, where you will find all the conditions. We wish you the best of luck with your sales!
