As from now, .pro domains (.law.pro, .med.pro, etc.) are open to all professionals
As from the 8th of September .pro TLDs (which used to be restricted to accountants, engineers, lawyers and medical practitioners from certain countries – namely Canada, the US, Germany and the UK), will be made available to all professionals and professional organisations, regardless of their country of origin. The applicants do however have to be certified by an official authority in their country of origin and must possess the necessary accreditations. Yet, registrars don’t have to provide verification in advance, but audits of the registered companies will have to be conducted on a regular basis to check whether the requirements have been met. No sunrise period has been planned.
