Be careful! In order for you to be able to use Veeam Cloud Backup Service, you must use one of the following Veeam software products for your local backup solution.
- Veeam Availability Suite™ v10
- Veeam Backup & Replication™ v10
- Veeam Backup Essentials™ v10
The subscription to the service must be purchased for a minimum period of 12 months.
A one-time €20 fee is charged for each request to reduce the number of virtual servers or storage packages.
Frequently asked questions
What is meant by the number of virtual servers?
This is the number of virtual servers that the customer reserves for Combell to store an offsite backup. In the Veeam Cloud Connect Backup product, Combell does not provide any virtual server.
What is meant by a storage package?
This is the amount of reserved GB (gigabytes) that Combell provides in its data centre for the storage of offsite backups for a customer’s virtual servers.
Are the numbers of virtual servers and storage packages linked?
No, for the Veeam Cloud Connect Backup service, the customer can reserve any number of virtual servers and storage packages, but he should purchase at least one of each in order for the service to work properly.
How many virtual servers should I order?
The amount of virtual servers ordered should at least be equal to the amount of servers for which Combell needs to store an offsite backup. If this amount exceeds the amount ordered, extra virtual servers must be purchased and Combell will charge costs for the exceeding amount.
How many storage packages should I order?
The storage space ordered should be at least equal to the storage space taken up by the offsite backup. If the available storage space is no longer sufficient to make extra offsite backups, the Veeam application will display an error message. In that case, the customer can order extra storage space from Combell.
What do I need for this service?
The only thing you need is the Veeam software that creates backups and a Veeam Cloud Connect backup service provided by Combell. Via the Veeam 9 Cloud Connect feature of your backup software, you will then be able to enter the data we provided you with, after which the external backups will be created automatically. You can also restore backups via your Veeam software, without manual intervention from Combell.
How much time does a backup require to be copied to your data centre?
Thanks to the use of caching, data fingerprinting of variable block sizes and TCP/IP protocol optimisation, the integrated WAN acceleration makes the transmission of backup data via the WAN up to 50 times faster. Veeam's integrated WAN acceleration requires no agents, special network settings or extra bandwidth.
