3,000,000 .nl domain names

Friday, the 3 millionth .nl domain name has been registered. This was somewhat earlier than anticipated, since the SIDN didn’t expect this to happen before August. The first .nl domain name was registered in 1986 (cwi.nl) and is still active. The .nl is the third most important country extension after Germany (12 million) and the UK (7 million). There are currently about 806,000 .be domain names.
