Search engines, the most important marketing channel for online shops

A study conducted during the Webwinkel Vakdagen in Utrecht showed that search engines are the most important marketing channel for numerous online shops. More than 60% of the respondents are satisfied to very satisfied regarding search engine optimization (SEO).

This satisfaction level is supported by an increase of SEO budgets: 35% of the respondents will invest more in SEO in comparison with last year. There is also an increase in budgets allocated to SEA and e-mail marketing to the detriment of printed media, paying links and online advertising.
