Migrate your website yourself
You can migrate your website to Combell yourself. Please note that this usually requires technical knowledge.
Migrating a WordPress website (general)
For WordPress websites, you have two options:
- Use a WordPress migration plugin
- Or perform a manual migration (copy files + database)
A migration plugin is usually the easiest solution.
Migrating WordPress with Managed WordPress
Are you using Managed WordPress at Combell? Then you can easily use our migration tool.
Follow these steps in the control panel:
- Go to My products > Web hosting
- Click Manage hosting next to your domain name
- In the left-hand menu, select “File Manager”
- Go to Developer tools > Migrate & Reset
- Download the migration plugin
Then:
- Log in to your external WordPress dashboard
- Install and activate the plugin
- Start the migration
The plugin will help you automatically transfer your website to your Managed WordPress environment.
