Basic monitoring

Each server within Combell's network is connected to the Basic Monitoring system. Combell checks the services below at the indicated intervals:

  • availability of 1 (secure) web page: every 5 minutes
  • ICMP (ping, host availability): every 5 minutes
  • POP3 and SMTP: every 10 minutes
  • disk usage: every 30 minutes
  • average system load: every 5 minutes
  • RAID controller status: every 10 minutes
  • Remote access availability: every 10 minutes

When exceeding a given value or if a service is not accessible, an SMS message and an e-mail are sent to an on-duty system manager, who will solve the problem according to the SLA.

Only applications (e.g. web server) installed by Combell will be included in the monitoring system. If the problem arises again, a Combell system manager will get in touch with the Customer. If the problem is caused by an application belonging to the Customer, the monitoring will be temporarily deactivated or the Customer will be required to solve the problem as soon as possible. Per Basic Monitoring package, a maximum of 8 checks can be performed per server.

Combell activates Basic Monitoring only if Combell receives a version of the handover document (Customer to Combell) signed by the Customer.
