You can register domain names with (almost) any extension, such as .com or .be. But which one should you choose? We are glad to help you making your choice.

• Is your company active only on a national market?
  Then we would advise you to register a domain name with that country's extension. Why? Your (potential) customers will see you as a local company with a close relationship with its customers. If you are mainly active in Belgium, then we would advise a .be domain name.

• Are you a international-oriented company?
  We would advise you to register a domain name with an international extension. Best-known is the .com extension, but .net and .org are also well adopted. Other extensions that are getting popular are .biz and .info. Why? International extensions are considered to be more important than local extensions. International extensions also sound more familiar to your international business relations.
  
  
• Do you work both national and international?
  We would advise you to register a domain name with a local as well as a domain name with an international extension. Contact your relations with the appropriate domain name. This way, you will enjoy both national and international domain name advantages!

A perfectly designed website is worth nothing without a good domain name. But which 'good' domain name do I need to be successful? Unfortunately, 'the' perfect domain name does not exist!

But we can give you some suggestions, which might help you choose a good domain name:

• Keep the domain name as short as possible.
  
• Use your company's name. Is this name already taken? Name your domain after your main activity.
  
• However, it is always interesting to register domain names of your main activities. This way, people who are specifically looking for your activities, will always end up with you.
  
• Register also your product names. This is important in order to obtain a higher ranking (= place) in the search engine results.
  
• Do you want to put different words in 1 domain name? Register the domain name with the words written in one, as well as with '-' inbetween, f.e. servercenter.be and server-center.be.
  
• Select the right extension(s)
