Re-release of 74.000 .EU domain names?

A few weeks ago we were informed by EURid that 74.000 .eu domain names had received the status 'ON HOLD'. All these domain names had been registered by some 400 registrars that violated EURid's Terms & Conditions. These registrars and the owners of the domain names turned out to be the same people. One of the frequent abusers was a company called Ovidio Limited.

'Because registrars are only allowed to register domain names on behalf of their clients and 'domain warehousing' (meaning : buying up domain names with the intent of selling those later at elevated prices) is explicitly forbidden, this is a clear case of breach of contract', according to EURid.

Because of this, all domain names registered by these companies have had their status changed to 'on hold'. EURid is even considering re-releasing the domain names for registration. Currently they are awaiting the decision of the courts dealing with this issue. In case one of the domain names you wished to register should be released again, we will of course try and do all that we can to register these for you.
