Cybersquatters exploit hurricanes in America

SANS Internet Storm Center noticed that, the past few days, numerous domain names have been registered containing Gustav and Hanna, often completed by the words “help” or “foundation”.

These 4 long lists contain a.o. gustavaidnow.org, gustavreferrals.net, hurricanegustavvictims.com, etc. Often, these websites offer the possibility to make donations for the victims.

In 99% of the cases, this is sheer fraud and some websites even contain spyware or Internet viruses. These websites are also often promoted via e-mail. So, be careful!
