Bush tries to stop the upcoming .XXX domain extension.
The American Government has asked ICANN to delay the realization of the .XXX domain extension. Bush tries hard to stop the internet’s new ‘red-light district’.
Over 6000 people made their objects by either E-mail or a letter. They are afraid the new .XXX domain extention will legitimize the porno industry. Others are afraid this will make adult content more accessable to their children. ICANN responded by saying the US government had their chance for the last five years. Still, they are thinking about giving them a month to make their case. This means there is chance that the .XXX domain extension will never come to be. If bush doesn’t get his way than .XXX will soon be available for registration.
