Earlier this year, South Korea held what is called a landrush period, which started on March 28th and ended on April 11th 2007.
The result of this landrush was made public on April 12th.
If several parties have applied for a given .kr domain, it will be attributed via a lottery system, as the first come-first served principle isn’t applied in South Korea.
Each company, organisation or person can register a .kr domain. A local address is however obligatory in order to qualify for a .kr. Anyone can thus submit a request for the registration of one or several .kr domains.
