Linux Pentium IV SATA server

These servers are adequate for the hosting of websites or applications that don't have any exuberant performance demands.

This server is expandable with extra memory up to maximum 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM. Hard disks can be upgraded to 250 GB or 500 GB SATA2 drives. There's a maximum of 2 hard disks in this server..

		Serial-ATA (SATA) disks offer high performance and quality. SATA2 drives have an even higher throughput speed, which is why this technology is used in the larger hard drives. Because the hard disks are duplicated, this server offers a high uptime guarantee. If one disk should ever crash, the other one will immediately take over, without any interrruption. Both hard disks are always an exact real-time copy of each other. The raid configuration is set up using a dedicated hardware raid controller and not software raid nor motherboard raid. This increases performance considerably. In addition to a RAID 1 configuration, you can opt for RAID 5. Contact our sales department for a tailor made server solution.
	Data traffic
		Select how much data transfer you think you will need per month. Data transfer is not transferable to the next month. If you exceed the monthly data transfer amount, the surplus will be invoiced according to following price list. Dedicated bandwidth is also an option, contact our sales department for more information.
	Backup services
		COMBELL offers two backup solutions. Daily tape backups via the Legato software for your dedicated or co-located server at COMBELL. A daily backup, of your entire server, including the operating system and all installed software, will be made on tape. You can contact our system managers if you would like some folders to be excluded from the backups. The backup tapes will be stored in Ghent as well as in Brussels, two copies for the safety and security of your data. You can also use our Central Storage backup. In that case a backup client software will be installed on your server. You are responsible for the configuration of the client (which folders need to be backed up, when and how often backups need to be made, how long the backups are to be stored etc). With this backup option, your data are being stored on our central SAN infrastructure. The operating system and other software are not included in these backups. 	Plesk software
		Plesk is a very user-friendly software for managing your webserver. You can set up and manage your own virtual sites. It is ideal for those who want to provide webhosting and give their customers an easy control panel. Even if you want to host only 1 site on this server, you will need this software, unless you rather install webserver software and all other components (s.a. PHP, MySQL,...) yourself. 	IP addresses
		By default, you will receive 1 IP-address with each server. You will only need extra IP-addresses for certain applications, such as anonymous FTP or SSL. Otherwise, 1 IP-address is sufficient. It is perfectly possible to put several websites on 1 IP-address (virtual hosting).

Monthly price for your dedicated server

The monthly price for your dedicated server depends on the contract term length.
You can always start an initial contract for 3 months and extend it with 12 months.
This allows you to try out the COMBELL services without too high a risk.
Afterwards you can still extend for longer terms to get the best possible prices.
