A dedicated server means that COMBELL provides you with a complete computer system - a server - installed in our data-center, which you can use for your own applications or website. There are no other people using this server. That means, you can install your own software on your server and you have complete root access.

For dedicated server hosting you pay a monthly fee for the use of a server, which is basically a complete computer system.. This monthly fee includes : server hardware, 2 hours COMBELL staff support, 24/7 monitoring, data transfer, full installation and preparation of the server.

If you choose co-location, you have to buy your own server, you install the server software yourself and you have a fixed monthly data transfer at COMBELL. You can still get COMBELL staff support, but then as an option, meaning : it is not included.

The main advantage of a dedicated server against co-location:
