COMBELL is connected via the worldwide COLT network, which has its own optical switching network throughout Europe. This network is equiped with the newest hardware, such as Cisco GSR-routers, POS- and SRP/DTP-technology in order to obtain speeds of up to 622MB/s (STM-4).

COMBELL adjust its bandwidth when it exceeds an average of 45%. This way, optimal accessibility and speed can be guaranteed 24/24, even at peak moments.

This is a Full Redundant Network: all nodes in the backbone are connected with at least two other nodes via circuits with separate routes. This way, a network is created which is optimal resistant against failures.The backbone is connected to Internet Exchange Points in every country and in the USA, which also makes connections outside the COLT-network possible.
