"All our collaborators work at a distance without any problems. Thanks to the Cloud Server."
Stéphane Vereecken, Charlier Advocaten
From an index card box to the Cloud
At Charlier Advocaten, the old in-house server recently had to make place for the Cloud. "After the opening of our second office in Ghent, we really felt the need to have a virtual office. We wanted to be able to collaborate on the same files, but that is impossible if you have to constantly e-mail back and forth. In this context, managing versions becomes a complete nightmare. The Cloud solved that problem", says lawyer Stephane Vereecken.
"The Cloud and our Virtual Office are a quantum leap for the functioning of our office."
Stephane Vereecken: "The firm's agenda is the backbone of every law firm. We already took a big step into the future when we centralised it and when we gave each lawyer a PDA. But the risk remained: what if the server were to crash? The whole firm would be at a standstill! Because a lawyer with a non-synchronised agenda is a lawyer on the road to ruin."
Savings on IT investments
Since the transition to the Cloud, the law firm did not purchase any servers. The acquisition of software is also past history.
Stephane Vereecken: "We now use cheaper group licences that are run on Combell's servers. They take care of updates and upgrades when necessary. And we no longer have to worry about back-ups and firewalls either. At the end of the day, that makes a huge difference. And, not to be forgotten: Combell offers unparalleled services night and day."
