How does the .ASIA Sunrise procedure work?
The Sunrise procedure allows companies with a brand name to register their .ASIA domain name before others can. On this page, you’ll discover how it all works.

1) You request the desired .asia domain name at COMBELL (Registrar).
2) COMBELL relays the application automatically to the registry that will immediately place the requested .asia domain name in the Sunrise database. The registry will also notify COMBELL and the applicant about this and provide an ID number.
3) As soon as the domain name has been entered in the Sunrise database, the customer or COMBELL (acting on behalf of the customer) has 10 days to submit the necessary proofs to the validation agent. Should COMBELL act on behalf of the customer, we expect that the customer submits all proof paperwork at least 1 day before the date of registration of the domain name, to give us enough time to forward the file to the validation agent.
4) As soon as the file has been received by the validation agent, he will receive the daily task list from the Sunrise database. The validation agent will only receive the daily task list as soon as the first .asia applicant has submitted his file. 5) The decision is taken and the status of the request is immediately entered in the whois.

  What happens in case of multiple requests for the same .asia domain name?

The .asia registry will - also during the Sunrise period - accept multiple applications for the same .asia domain name. In this period, the ‘first come, first served’ principle will not apply. All parties that have submitted valid requests will be invited to partake in an auction. The domain name will then be attributed to the highest bidder.

The .asia registry will also keep a waiting list based on the order of reception of the applications. The first candidate on the list will be the first to be checked by the validation agent when he receives the proof paperwork. If the file has been deemed correct by the validation agent, the candidate is added in the bidding list for this domain name.

How can I apply for the Sunrise period?

The start of the Sunrise period 2 has been fixed by DOTasia for October 9th, 2007, while the start of the Sunrise period 3 has been fixed for Novermber 13th, 2007. However, you can already apply for pre-registration at COMBELL as from now. All requests will be stored by us until the Sunrise period starts and they will be admitted to the .asia registry in order of arrival.

Every customer that applies for pre-registration with COMBELL will receive an e-mail with the question whether or not they want to apply during the Sunrise period.

No problem, you can always start a Sunrise period application for your .asia domain name that has already been included in our database.

For the Sunrise periods and the Landrush, DOTasia doesn’t apply the ‘first come, first served’ principle, so COMBELL won’t apply it either. All requests are stored by us in the database, no matter if they have been requested already or not.

all candidates for the domain name are rejected by the validation agent during the Sunrise period and registrations will thus proceed during the public launch, COMBELL will try to register the domain names for everyone who has ordered at COMBELL.
